My 30 Minutes - Caught in the Loupe

Friday, 18th saw Shobhana giving us a presentation on Print Media. It was actually about printing technique rather than about print creatives, though she did touch upon it.


Above you see everyone facinated by a lens - called a loupe.


That's the way you use a loupe.


And that is the loupe (pronounced loop).

In offset and flexographic printing loupes are used frequently to carefully analyze how ink lays on paper. Pressmen use them to check registration of colors, estimate dot-gain, and diagnose issues with roller pressure and chemistry based on the shape of individual dots. Blah. Blah.

The take from the meeting? A look at the ofline media techniques. Some of us did profit.
